This is a very hard to find Hamilton Stanley that was one of the Explorer Series watches which included the Ericsson, Byrd, Andrews, and Livingstone. The series came with 17 Jewel Illinois rectangular movements (207) that were adapted to be 19 Jewel 401’s. The introduction of the 980 Hamilton marked the end of the 401 with a total production of the Explorer series at approximately 7500. It has been fully serviced, and winds, sets, and runs great. It was introduced in 1934, and would make a great addition to a Hamilton Explorer series collection.
