Here's your chance to own a FULLY SERVICED (ultrasonic wash, rinse, and lubrication) Hamilton Electric GE Savitar II watch. Pictured in Rene Rondeau's book "The Watch Of The Future" on page 155 & 196, it was released in with an original price of $125 with metal band, and $110 with leather strap. It is four times signed on the dial, case, movement, and crown. It runs great and keeps time to well under 30 seconds variation per day, and has a brand new battery just installed. The hack function works properly, and the watch starts right up each time the crown is pushed in from the setting position to the running position. It has just had a BRAND NEW OLD STOCK D-PIN installed in the balance, so it will run virtually as it did from the factory.
The Savitar II is the cousin to the original Savitar. It is gold filled rather than solid gold like the Savitar, and lacks the reeding around the crystal found in the Savitar. The Savitar II also has a one piece case with the movmenent coming out through the crystal. Rene Rondeau states that "the bezel of the Savitar II originally had a brushed finish, but this is rarely seen today, as even light polishing will quickly remove it." The brushed bezel is present and very visible on this example, so makes this fine watch an even greater prize for the collector. There were only 8,800 of these watches produced, and this one also has the ORIGINAL GE Dial Finish so it should not be easily passed by. General Electric ordered many logo dial Hamilton Electrics over the year, with the Savitar II being a scarce example of the GE logo watches.
