Hamilton Avirex Branded 9219 Hacking Khaki Field Watch
Offered is a rare Hamilton Hacking 9219 Avirex Branded Military with ETA 2750 movement that winds, sets, and runs great. It keeps excellent time. Any collector interested in aviation ephemera will appreciate this watch. The hacking feature allowed watches to be set in unison with other watches right down to the second, which was important in military operations.
Avirex was started by Jeff Clyman in 1975 and began his business by selling US Government surplus pilot jackets. In 1979, Avirex introduced their mail order catalog, "The Cockpit." This is a watch that was offered by Avirex and likely dates from the late 1970s to early 1980s. This is an extremely rare watch, and you can read more about it here.
