Hamilton Electric Clearview Black Dial Watch
Offered is this FULLY SERVICED (ultrasonic wash, rinse and lubrication) Rare Hamilton Electric Clearview watch. Pictured in René Rondeau's book "The Watch Of The Future" on page 177, it was released in February 1965 with an original price of $100.00. It is signed on the dial, case, movement, crown, and strap. It runs great and keeps time to well under 30 seconds variation per day and has a brand new battery just installed. The hack function works properly, and the watch starts right up each time the crown is pushed in from the setting position to the running position.
The Clearview is one of the most sought after of the Hamilton Electrics. It had a very low production number of about 1,200 total (fewer than the ultra rare Altair). This example has the cool black dial and asymmetric steel hands that are correct for the black dial version. It is similar to the RR Special 51 with the exception of the narrow case ring to allow full view of the movement, exhibition rear, and lack of RR Special on the dial. As a plus, it has had a NEW OLD STOCK D-PIN installed in the balance, so it will run virtually as it did from the factory.
This Clearview is in great shape. It has the original crystal on the back, which is near perfect. The dial is original and in excellent condition as is the case. It gives a great opportunity to show off your Hamilton Electric 505 movement.
