Aquadive Model 50 Electronic With Built In Depth Gauge Divers Watch
Offered is this interesting 1970s NAC Aquadive Model 50 Diver's watch with built in depth guage that sets, runs great, and keeps excellent time. It will come with a brand new battery freshly installed. The watch has a screw-down crown at the 9 position to be out of the way during dives, and the orange hand near the 8 position on the dial measures depth up to 200 feet. Inside the watch there is a device around the movement called a Bourdon Tube with a sensor between the lugs at the 12 position. As one dives, and water pressure increases, it pushes on a rubber plug in the sensor and causes the gauge hand to move to measure depth. It makes the watch large and heavy, even for dive watch standards, but alleviated the need for a separate depth gauge during dives. It also features a unidirectional rotating bezel to measure dive time. It was truly a "tool" watch of the 70s. It's powered by a Dynotron ESA 9194 Electronic movement. This movement was likely chosen so that the screw-down crown would rarely have to be unscrewed to set the time, assuring it's continued water tightness.
