Hamilton Valiant With PROTOTYPE NAUGAHYDE DIAL
This is one of the few non-electric Asymmetric Hamilton watches and was first produced in 1959. It was originally sold for $100 with metal band and $89.50 with metal strap. The Valiant is nicknamed the "Tombstone" watch for obvious reasons. This example has a prototype Naugahyde dial. Naugahyde is artificial and designed to look like leather. Hamilton definitely achieved it's goal with this dial. Only two are known to exist and came directly to me from René Rondeau.
The watch winds, sets, and runs great. It keeps excellent time. The high grade 770 movement is adjusted to temperature and positions as well. These asymmetric Hamiltons with the mechanical movements are hard to come by, so don't let this one slip away.
