Hamilton Electric 14K Silver Dial Ventura
Here's your chance to own a FULLY SERVICED (ultrasonic wash, rinse, and lubrication) Hamilton Electric 14K Solid Gold Ventura watch. Pictured in René Rondeau's book "The Watch Of The Future" on pages 164 to 169, it was released in January 1957 with an original price of $200.00. It runs great and keeps time to well under 30 seconds variation per day and has a brand new battery just installed. As a plus, it has had a BRAND NEW OLD STOCK D-PIN installed in the balance, so it will run virtually as it did from the factory. The hack function works properly, and the watch starts right up each time the crown is pushed in from the setting position to the running position.
The Ventura was the first of the Hamilton Electrics released, along with the conservative Van Horn. The shape reflects the "boomerang" motif which was common in that era and was designed by Richard Arbib. Even the crown symbolized the new "Electric" watch, obviously being much too small to wind. The Ventura truly symbolizes the unique character of Hamilton Electric watches. This would be a great watch to add to a Hamilton Electric collection.
